Solar Energy Center for Ministry of New and Renewable Energy

October 16, 2025

Nestled within a picturesque natural landscape, the Solar Energy Center is a prestigious Green Building with a GRIHA V star rating. Carefully planned to minimize disruption to the site and preserve the surrounding habitat, this center showcases a harmonious blend of architecture and sustainability. The Administrative Block features a tower block (G+5) accommodating directors’ and staff offices, while the exhibition block (G+1) showcases the latest advancements in solar energy technology. The eye-shaped office block is strategically oriented to minimize heat gain from the west and east directions. The hostel block (G+1) seamlessly integrates with the north-facing contour and boasts a roof adorned with photovoltaic panels.

To ensure optimal energy efficiency and sustainability, a range of innovative strategies and practices have been implemented. These include green roofs, water conservation measures, renewable energy generation, ample daylighting, reduced reliance on air-conditioning, energy-efficient fixtures, and the use of sustainable building materials. By embracing these design principles, the Solar Energy Center offers a low-energy, low-carbon footprint building that exemplifies the future of environmentally conscious construction.
