Qaboos Mosque

October 2, 2025

The Qaboos Mosque at Buraimi was constructed under the direction of His Highness Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, the Sultan of Oman. The mosque features a spacious prayer hall for 1500 male worshipers and an exclusive centrally air-conditioned prayer hall for 200 female worshipers, with separate ablution facilities that prioritize privacy between men and women. The foyer showcases architectural elements inspired by Egypt and Morocco, highlighted by a grand central dome adorned with exquisite Italian mosaic featuring Islamic motifs. Two ornate minarets standing 45 meters tall flank the dome, while arched windows allow ample natural light into the central hall. The roof is crowned with a dome designed based on Islamic geometric principles, supported by four decorative columns. The interiors are adorned with Quranic inscriptions in calligraphy and stained glass windows. The entire mosque is beautifully finished and illuminated from the outside, creating a magnificent sight.
