Northside Cantonment Area for Afghan Air Corps

October 7, 2025

The site, previously a Soviet Camp, underwent the removal of 4600 unexploded ordnance items and heaps of metal scrap. It was then transformed into the headquarters for the Afghanistan National Army Air Corps. The base consists of 34 buildings, ranging from one to two stories, spread over three kilometers of paved streets. Infrastructure such as power and water supplies, as well as underground utilities and a wastewater treatment plant, were constructed throughout the site. The Communication Squadron Building covers an area of 1050 square meters, the Power House spans 800 square meters, and the six administrative buildings encompass 14,000 square meters.
