Agatti Airport

October 20, 2025

The proposed project involves the development and modernization of Agatti Airport, covering a plot area of 110 acres. The runway strip, measuring 335m x 192m, will be constructed on an RCC platform built in the sea. This platform will also accommodate various facilities such as the apron, terminal building, ATC, technical building, and fire station.

Due to the environmental constraints of the Coral Reef Island, reclamation is not possible. Therefore, the use of an RCC platform minimizes the impact on the environment. The design of the Passenger Terminal is in harmony with the serene atmosphere of Agatti Island. It features a prefabricated large span hyperboloid structure with skylights, creating a column-free interior hall. The predominantly glass façade provides passengers with clear views of the scenic lagoon.

The terminal building is designed as a single-level structure with a capacity to handle up to 150 arriving passengers and 150 departing passengers. Furthermore, the design allows for future expansion if required.
