Indoor Velodrome At The Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex For CWG – 2010

October 17, 2025

The state-of-the-art velodrome, which was a key structure in the Commonwealth Games 2010, is characterized by its two large span bow-arches that suspend the roof shell. This bold and flamboyant design houses one of the world’s finest velodrome tracks. The velodrome itself is a fully covered stadium featuring a 250-meter demountable timber track. The demountable seating is strategically located in close proximity to the existing velodrome, which includes a 330-meter open-to-sky concrete track. The Velodrome is part of a larger complex consisting of three stadiums, providing facilities for indoor games, gymnastics, and wrestling, in addition to the velodrome. Detailed internal space planning has been meticulously carried out to accommodate athletes, officials, spectators, and VIPs in and around the velodrome. Careful consideration has been given to sports lighting, general lighting, PA system, acoustics, and other MEP services.
